My name is Rex Boyse. I was born and raised in Artesia, New Mexico. I am a graduate of West Texas State University - which is now West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. I received my Bachelor of Science in May of 1989.  

 

This will be my 35th year to teach, and my 26th year to teach in Weatherford.

 

My educational career began in Odessa, Texas in 1989. I taught 4th grade for nine years in Odessa before we moved to Weatherford in 1998. I taught 6th grade for one year and then fourth grade for three years at Travis Elementary School. In August 2002, Travis Elementary was closed and we opened Bose Ikard Elementary. Here at Ikard, I have taught 2nd grade for three years and 4th for 18 years. After a combined 30 years of teaching and loving fourth graders (which I wouldn't trade for the world), I am excited to be back in 2nd grade.

It is true what they say, "Time flies when you are having fun". It seems just like yesterday when I began teaching. I am blessed and thankful everyday to be able to have the job that I do.
